I had an older upright where the pitch was a halftone down overall, plus it was out of tune. After checking out the trial I downloaded the full version. I increased the pitch of the upright "by ear" by a halftone, and of course it was totally out of tune afterwards, then I started using the software. The recording part took a while, maybe because I used a very simple mic from a headset, probably not the best choice, but I did get it all recorded eventually. The tuning itself worked like a chime and I am very impressed with the result. I play the piano since 40 years and to me the tune of the piano sounds very good. Maybe a top-notch tuner could have done a slightly better job by ear - I don't know. But we're not talking about a concert grand and for the task that needed to be done Dirk's software was the perfect solution, in particular because increasing the pitch means most likely I'll have to do a couple follow up tunings very soon, which would be very costly. Thanks Dirk for a great product!

I just wanted to say that Dirk's Piano Tuner program is great. I have been using it for over a year now, and have tuned my piano up 4 times, and tuned my old piano before just selling it. The program is intuitive, and it is very accurate. The price is less than a Peterson stretch strobe tuner and can be installed on your laptop to carry around with you. Good job !! p.s. I would like to request a choice of stretch tunings in any future updates. p.s. I would like to request Macintosh support in future updates.

To say the least, Dirk's Piano Tuner helped me bring my little Disklavier upright to a level I though was impossible. Even our previous professional piano tuner was not able to remove the harshness from our piano and it was quite unpleasant to hear. To my complete surprise, having used this software and tuning the piano myself, the piano now sounds terrific, as good as it can sound, being "stretched" correctly. Worth every penny, it pays for itself in a year if you have your piano tuned every 4 months. It does take a little patience and the right tools. Thank you!!!!

Many thanks Dirk et all for speedy response in switching to my newer laptop when the old one died. I am amateur tuner restoring a B bayan too decrepit for commercial restoration. The fact that you show the overtones helps me get the timbre and not only the pitch right. Yours is the best I could imagine. Only I wish you also had B version picture, maybe you could help me put such an image which I would copy from ebay

I love your accordion tuner program with reports. I am an accordion hobbyist. I play them. And also do some buying and reselling. It is good that I can know the condition of the overall tuning as well as the basic tuning for A (440 or other). And it measure multiple reeds for musette and chords. Things I must know in my hobby. I do some spot tuning of reeds also. Recently my PC crashed and Dirk was quick to help me get the program re-loaded again. So I send a big "Thank You!" to Dirk.

I'm still gathering the tools to service my own chromatic, and Dirk's Harmonica Tuner provides a tuner which functions fine with my AT2020 USB microphone. Dirk must sit up all night beside his computer because he answered my e-mails requesting information immediately, even though it was midnight in the Netherlands. The full version installed and functioned perfectly. It's a great tuning tool!

I did experiment on my own Grand piano Yamaha C7. It is marvelous. I couldn't believe it. Hello Dirk. I have been using your accordion tuner for many years and have always obtained excellent results. It is also quick and easy using your software. As there are so many different types of musettes to suit different tastes, I have often wondered if it would be possible to build in a button that gives the expected sound of various types of tunings, so that the person tuning could choose a favourite sound. e,g. the combined musette sound of one reed at minus 18 cents, one reed at standard, and one reed at plus 20 cents. I am very pleased with the piano tuning software. What persuaded me to purchase it were two things: Firstly, I like the way it works out precisely the right amount of stretch for the tuning of any piano; in other words, it works like the ear of an expert piano tuner. I would buy this product in a heart beat as you can tell it does what it says it does. Unfortunately, I need more skill to replace strings, adjust actions, etc. With some pianos that one person has gone over in a bad way it's hard to get it back right again. So even if you have a lot of skill this software would really be a nice time saver as it costs less that all of the tools that you need to work on them and you will find broke strings in uprights that you have to take the action out and so on. I wish I had that skill and I might find myself another profession as there seems to be a high demand without very many people that can fix all of the problems and not just the tuning. I watched the video and this is the best software tuning tool I have ever seen and actually costs less than some of those specialized hardware for this purpose and with a good microphone should do a great job.

I checked several tuning programs and found Dirk's to be a good value. I loaded it onto a small netbook meeting the minimum specifications to run the application, and it works flawlessly. The very first spinet I tuned had not been tuned for many years and the owner did not want a pitch raise. I appreciated the fact that I could select the tuning, making it easier. The scale of the first piano I tuned with the system sounded great and the client was thrilled. I am looking forward to future enhancements of the software. It is already a "winner!"

This tuner is what I would call a 'windfall' product. I paid $130.00 USD for the 'bargain of the year' a couple of years ago. Dirk's Tuner 1.2 is a great tool! I easily managed to tune my piano with my notebook, a headset mike and a tuning hammer, even as layman.
